Guest Designer Wednesday - Laura Davidson

Wow today I have the pleasure of being Lynne's guest designer... our topic is blustery winds.
The colours we were supposed to use are white, green and orange... so right away I thought....
Winnie the Pooh and Windsday..... The base page is a beautiful Bo Bunny paper from Up The Street in Strathroy Ontario. I also added some flowers with a stamp that Tara has at the store.. using Tim Holtz's distress inks (my fav)... The leaves are a MS punch.. and Winnie and Piglet are made using my cricut...some twine....I am making a second page to go with it but I have to find the pictures of my granddaughter Kyrie in her Winnie the Pooh costume so I can figure out exactly with to do with it....Hope you enjoy this page as much as I had making it...

Hum Dum Dum Ditty Dum
Hum Dum Dum
Oh the wind is lasting rustly
And the trees are thrashing thrustly
And the leaves are rustling gustly
So its rather safe to say,
That it seems it may turn out to be
It feels that it will undoubtedly
It looks like a rather blustery day, today
It seems that it may turn out to be
It feels like it will be undoubtedly
Looks like a rather blustery day, today!

Laura, how did you ever know that Winnie the Pooh is my absolutely favorite.... Thanks sew much for being my special Guest Designer!!! Please stop and give Laura some bloggie love!!!!

God Bless You and Thank you for stopping by . . . .

Down at Fraggle Rock Blog Hop

Are you ready to dance your cares away --- then lets go to Fraggle Rock with Gobo, Mokey, Wembley, Boober and Red. This was a children's live action puppet television program series created by Jim Henson. The central characters were a set of "Muppet" creatures called Fraggles.

The music starts in the opening scene with you seeing Doc, an inventor, and his loving dog, Sprocket. Sprocket chases Uncle Matt, a Fraggle, as he explores "Outer Space" and sends picture post cards to the Fraggles. Uncle Matt explores Outer Space through a crack in the wall.

Fraggles are humanoid creatures, about 18 inches tall with fur in a wide variety of colors and a tail like a lion’s, with a tuft of fur on the end. They live in a network of caves called Fraggle Rock, populated by a variety of creatures, and seeming to connect to at least two different worlds in separate dimensions of time and space. Fraggles spend much of their carefree lives in play, exploring their worlds, and generally enjoying themselves. However, at the same time they maintain a complex culture and society, with each individual having rights and responsibilities. They have basic skill with tools and with crude machinery, and the concept of war is known to them (although wars between Fraggles are very rare). Fraggles live on a diet of vegetables, especially radishes. If individuals touch their heads together before falling asleep they can “share dreams.”

Within Fraggle Rock lives a second species of small humanoid creatures, the pudgy, green, ant-like Doozers. Standing only 6 inches tall (knee-high to a Fraggle), Doozers in a sense represent anti-Fraggles; their lives are dedicated to work and industry. Doozers spend much of their time busily constructing all manner of scaffolding throughout Fraggle Rock using miniature construction equipment and wearing hard-hats and work boots. No one but the Doozers themselves seem to understand the actual purpose of their intricate and beautiful constructions.

Often they accompany their building with marching songs and various Doozer chants. To ensure that they always have a steady stream of work to do, Doozers build their constructions out of an edible candy-like substance (manufactured from radishes) which is greatly enjoyed by Fraggles. They actually want the Fraggles to eat their constructions because "architecture's supposed to be enjoyed" and also so they can go on to build again. This is essentially the only interaction between Doozers and Fraggles; Doozers spend most of their time building, and Fraggles spend much of their time eating Doozer buildings.

On the outside of another exit from Fraggle Rock, through a well, live a family of Gorgs, giant furry humanoids standing 22 feet tall. The husband and wife of the family call themselves the King and Queen  of the Universe, with their son Junior as its Prince and their heir, but to all appearances working as simple farmers with a hut and garden patch. The Gorgs regard Fraggles as pests, which steal radishes from their garden. In one episode it is revealed that the Gorgs use radishes to make "anti-vanishing cream" that prevents them from becoming invisible. So the three main races of the Fraggle Rock universe — Fraggles, Doozers and Gorgs — are all dependent on the radishes for different reasons. While the King and Queen consider the Fraggles disgusting vermin, Junior enjoys chasing, catching and keeping them like a boy would lizards and bugs. Junior has no friends, and perhaps pursues the Fraggles just so he has someone to talk to.

Marjory, The Trash Heap is a wise being (referred to as an "oracle"), serves as the garbage dump of the Gorgs. She and her heckling heralds live near the Gorg's garden, and she gives the Fraggles guidance and advice, which the Fraggles regard with reverence, although they do not worship her. She also appears to have some magical abilities (specifically telepathy and the ability toteleport items or Fraggles), although she does not often use them. Sometimes she knits to pass the time. She has an uncle named Maximillian, whom she refers to as "Uncle Max". Jerry Nelson voiced Marjory the Trash Heap.

What's a hop without some sweet candy --- Deborah Marie Foti has offered some "goodies" from her "stash" by remarking on each of the stops along the way ... now, that's what I call a sweet deal!!!

Let's dance our cares away and go down to Fraggle Rock now that you know the characters and have fun with this wonderful line up --- if you were just visiting one of the many worlds of Fraggle Rock today, aka me, I don't want you to miss any of this silliness and start at the beginning of our our hop with me!!!!

Brace, yourselves – yes, I’m doing a lay-out!!!! My daughter and I used to love to watch Fraggle Rock. It was quality time! Well, I decided to do a lay-out for her daughter, Lily, which Jen can tell her the story of Fraggles

RECIPE:

The hop begins at Created By Cori. If you came from Lisa then you are in the right place!

What says spring more than butterflies starting to flit about. My first love as many of you know is quilting but it has been difficult for me to quilt due to shattering my left arm . . . .

The tendons were ruptured and replaced in my fingers and I don't have the strength in my hand to hold a rotary cutter steady to make safe cuts. There is a metal plate from my wrist to my elbow with no bones on the left side of the wrist.

Now, with that being said and with the help of a few friends, this quilt, Butterfly in the Round, was created which was made with a 9 Degree Wedge Ruler. Cheryl Phillips designed a whole series of Quilt Without Corners and the instructions are similar to making strips of bargello. The cuts in this quilt are cut in strips and the strips are sewn together and then cut with the ruler to make the circular piecing. The pattern is from Quilts Without Corners. The body of my butterfly is textured suede with the balance of fabric are 100 percent cottons. Beading was added for dimension.

And now on to the pictures of the quilt . . . .

You next stop is Beckie.

We hope you have enjoyed today's hop!

Walt Disney Animated Movie Blog Hop: Feature Attraction: Beauty and the Beast

Welcome to Walt Disney's Animated Movies Blog Hop!!! What makes this hop phenomenal as in no other hop is that every Friday, we will be paying tribute to different movies SOOOO, you will need to mark you calendars for every Friday for these special blog hops:

Now, I know today isn't Friday but there were more important things happening as Lisa became Grandma for her very first grandchild on Thursday -- Maxwell made his grand appearance and he's a little doll from the pictures I've seen not only of him but the proud new grandma -- again, congrats my friend!

Gee, you can't tell how proud she is, now can you!!!!!

Coming Attractions:
March 16: Beauty and the Beast
March 23: Cinderella
March 30: Alice in Wonderland

Today, we are celebrating all those cute characters that come alive on the screen. If you just happened to visit me today, I wouldn't want you to miss one chime of the clock and would want you to start with Lisa at.... If you arrived from Barbara then you are on the right spot!!!!

Now, those that know me know that lay-outs are not my forte’ and I cringe just thinking of doing one. Well, I must be possessed as I decided that with 2 granddaughters, I thought I would do a lay-outs for pictures for the girls – this one is for Lily, who just turned one!!! Lisa will be having additional Disney movies with Cinderella next week, thus another couple more pages with Disney Princesses!!!

RECIPE:
Dreams Come True Cricut Cartridge
Nana’s Nursery Girls for backgrounds
Mrs, Potts and Chip along with Belle each cut at 4.75-inches
Scraps for the characters along with “tag” or “picture” pieces

I vote that Mrs. Potts be a Disney Princess -- we need a fuller figure to represent some of us that aren't the "tiny petite"!
Look how beautiful Belle is with her long dress and I must tell you she was such a good girl holding still while I used little pearl gems for her earring!!!!
Belle just looks sew elegant and regal ---- I cheat on the faces as I put a piece of white under the flesh and draw my own eyes and mouths --- shhhhhh don't tell anyone!

Thanks for stopping by today and visiting and checking out my project, I now must send you on your way but watch out for the beast as I send you on to Anita.

There is a great line-up today for the hop and I wouldn't want you to miss a single spot:

Guest Designer: Susan of Susana's Scrappin' Corner

Warning, warning. This blog has just been hijacked by Susan herself <LOL>. Lynne has been quite under the weather so I am posting this for her. Let's all give her well wishes that she feels better soon and is back to her ole crafty self. Here is my posting for today:

Hi all... I get to be Guest Designer on my own blog today as well as my dear friend (aka Mammy) Lynne's blog; Her Craftiness. I was recently at an all day crop with my Creative Memories friends and got to teach a class on the Border Maker System. I had some time to make some cards for a friend too. Since March is a special month for me and then we have Easter coming up, I decided to make some birthday cards to share and an Easter card to share also.  Here is what I made:

These two I used a sketch from Cardmaker magazine.

This one I came up with on my own.

Speaking on Creative Memories and one of my favorite holiday (St. Patrick's Day), Creative Memories has a sale going on from March 14th-20th. Place an order for $75* in Creative Memories products and you’ll qualify to purchase this exclusive 8x8 Love & Life Album (coverset and white pages) for just $18 ($30 value). This option will appear in your shopping bag once your order reaches $75. But it’s only available when you place your qualifying order between March 14 and 20.

* The Love & Life Album does not count toward the $75 order requirement.

I so want this album for myself and am sure that there are others too. You can stop by my site HERE and see what amazing things there are for you. Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Thanks Lynne for having me as Guest Designer today and I pray that you get better soon. Until next time....

Charlie Brown and the Gang Blog Hop

Welcome to Charlie Brown and the Gang Blog Hop. Charlie Brown and his gang are out to play with us today whether it be baseball, holding the football or just hangin' out!!!! Don't forget that Snoopy has to get the Red Baron and not fall behind the enemy lines. Also, you may want to stop off at Lucy's booth to have a second opinion!!!Not only all these characters, Kari's son Josh, loves Charlie Brown with his favorite character being Snoopy and its his 18th birthday! Be sure to wish Josh a Happy Birthday on Kari's Blog .

There are so many characters to depict here and we all have our favorites!!!! With this in mind, we will be setting up scenes whether it is a lay-out, card, decorative piece but rest assured, you will be seeing Charles Schultz characters being showcased!!!!!

Now, if you just happened to be visiting me, I'm thrilled and glad to show you my project and offer you advise for 5 cents, BUT I would love for you to start at the beginning of our story and that is with Kari. Now, if you arrived from Vicki then you are on the correct base on the baseball field!!!

We have a terrific All-Star group of sponsors:
·        Lynne Kirsch - chipboard figures of Charlie Brown and the Gang
·        Shannon Leffew Keith offering flowers from her etsy shop
·        Colleen Duffy Hathaway is offering a paper pieced set of your choice from Scraptastical Kreations (http://scraptasticalkreations.com/)

For my project, I chose Joe Cool --- I just love him and he is a “cool dude” just standing around the water fountain!

RECIPE:
  • Joe Cool paper piecing free file by Mardenz fused together with one being a mirror view and is enlarged to 8-inches - now you have to visit her site as she has the best and I mean best files that are easy to cut with clean cuts
  • Scrap paper
  • Black paper from Recollections with another layer on back to stiffen the card
  • White gel pen for accent

Now, you have to admit, he is Kewl!!!! Happy 18th Birthday Josh and hope you enjoy your card!! Your next stop with Charlie Brown and the Gang is Edwina and be sure not to let Lucy tease you with that line "I'll hold the football" !

God Bless you and Thank you for stopping by:
