Paper Dolls Challenge Monday Week 7 Drawing

If you are visiting with the Faith Blog Hop God's Promises --- please scroll down a bit further. Thank you

I was thrilled while in the hospital getting an email from Thienly of Paper Dolls saying that I was the winner of the drawing for the flowers .... now, don't get me wrong but those who know me know that I am not a pastel flowery type person --- well, either old age has set in or I was totally wowed and now a believer!!! I love the flowers and will most definitely emboss projects with them! Thank you Paper Dolls! As you can see, the presentation was just as lovely if not more sew than the actual flowers!!! What I'm upset about, this is the last week of their challenges!!

My project was a flip flop box with a rose decoration on my flip flop!!! Double the project fun and we all know how much I'm enjoying making those flip flop boxes!!! In fact, I have made 4 total and yet to keep one as I gave one to a dear friend which was a black and ivory with a butterfly, gave 1 for blog candy which was my peacock that I called "tickle" to Susan E. Burmudez who is also a friend and sister participating in the Faith Blog Hop God's Promises (you need to check out her blog as she is an over-achiever and I could only hope to be that as she has posted a different project for each day!!!) and then another 2 for my RAK for the month of July which was the one picture below along with a blue one called "sweet" filled with mints!!!! Now, I also need to show you my RAK's from Trace Geneau which is an adorable cut of a koala bear which I am just loving him right now and don't want to part with him for the June RAK!

My July RAK is from Cherie Pemberton with a beautiful get well card

thank you Cherie

I'm enjoying my toys from you
and
can't wait to make cuppy cakes to put the candi circles on!!!

Thank you my dear friends and followers who have become part of my "extended" family --

Creative Kuts Take a Step

If you are here for the Faith Blog Hop God's Promises, please just scroll down a bit further.

I am sew excited to be showcasing as my Creative Kuts Design Team Project for this week's Take A Step project.

I can not emphasize it enuf as to early detection with a mammogram and I guess, I'm on my own personal crusade or "soap box" to please if you are 40 or over to get a yearly mammogram. Also, remind your friends, family, and loved ones the importance!

I made this card to mail to friends as my reminder and Creative Kuts has the means with the cutting files which are purrrrfect and easy to make to complete my reminder card. Look how adorable the bear is with her sweat suit which was cut from a rose print scrap paper and with her headband bow on top of her head not to mention the pink glittered tennis shoes! She definitely looks like she's taking the first step right off my card! My only additions was the word "mammograms" which I used the Victorian Let in the Make the Cut. I had added that adorable pink and white dot for teddy's shoes along with the ribbons on the heart balloons. I added the breast cancer awareness brad on the upper left corner. My paper is an adorable black, grey, and white stripe which was $.10 per sheet which I had purchased at Pat Catan's! Guess you'll be seeing this paper here a lot more needless to say! One other thing I do need to add, would you believe I am not a fan of the color pink and here I am displaying projects using the color "pink" ..... will wonders never cease!

On the inside, I used my printer to make an outline of the breast cancer awareness ribbon clipart and shaded and colored with my coloring pencils!!! I always loved to color and now have a good reason to not to mention it is relaxing! I added the message "a friendly reminder to schedule your mammogram - early detection saves lives!"

Hope you are having a fantastic weekend!

God's Promises Faith Blog Hop

Welcome to the God's Promises Faith Blog Hop. If you arrived here from Vicki, you are in the right place. If you just arrived at my blog, you should go to Paper Tree House Studio in order to start at the beginning. Every month a group of brave women get together to showcase the Glory of God. This month we want to showcase His faithfulness during trying times, so kick back, relax and let the Lord touch your heart with His Truth!

Did you know that there are 1260 promises in the Bible? I did not count them myself, but am blown away by the fact that each and every promise the Lord gives, He is faithful to fulfill. It is pretty easy to believe this when times are easy and abundance surrounds our lives, but is that the same when trouble hits?

The Bible says that our hearts are deceitful above all things and then it adds WHO CAN TRUST IT? Have you ever considered that maybe the reason why we dont trust God is because we spend more time looking at how big the waves in our lives have become and forget that God created the entire UNIVERSE with just His breath... Think about it, the Lord spoke the ENTIRE World into existence... the only thing created that was made with His hands was man and woman. That is why He says that if He provides for the birds and the plants, how much more to His children? You are precious to the Lord and He will not fail you, even when it feels He might.

In this hop you will read the stories of women like you that have faced trouble and probably even lacked the faith to believe in the miracle the Lord performed at the very end! Our prayer is that you would open your heart to the Truth found in these promises and that you would even share with us what God has done in your life. Your victory may become our hope... :)

During the hop you will find many chances to win prizes! All you have to do to be considered for one of those prizes is leave a comment and become a follower of the blogs you will hop through. For the Grand Prizes , make sure to leave a comment, become a follower, and "LIKE" Paper Tree House on Facebook. This will allow you to find out about future hops we will be having.

God's Fulfilled Promise in my life:

One of my very most favorite Bible stories since my youth has been Noah's Ark with the promise that God would never destroy the earth with water again. I always found this story very comforting when my Grandmother would read it to me and later in life, I started to collect all things Noah's Ark including making dolls and quilts commerating God's promise.

For my project, I wanted to share my love of the story, by writing my own version of the story while depicting with my Cricut to give as a present to my new granddaughter, Lily. The words are my own but a compliation of not only the scripture but also the little song of "Noah Built the Ark" which learned not only from my Grandmother but also many years of church camp but time got away from me with my being in the hospital.

With this being said, onward and forward . . .

At this point, I was going to bow out but have resorted to "Plan B" as this Bible Story and God's Promise is very important to me and gives me fond memories of sitting with Gram and all those times at church camp at Jummonville in Uniontown, PA where we would sit at the base of the giant cross and hear the stories of God's Promises of love.

"Plan B" is a quilt that I had made for a baby's gift. I am a quilter from way back and had originally learned to express my self with fabrics and threads. It has only been recently that I had started with the card making and scrapbooking with the Cricut after having fallen and shattered my left arm. I still do some quilting but not to the extent that I had previously. I must tell you that I am not the conventional quilter as I love bright colors and go the extra --- this is a self-drawn applique pieced center with these adorable funky animals set in the attic windows. I had machine-pieced and machine-quilted this quilt. I do find that I make a lot of Noah's Ark quilts as baby quilts just to tell them the story that I have enjoyed myself from childhood to my adult years and find comfort and peace when piecing Noah's story with God's promise together which is why I felt the need to share them with you.

Thank you ever sew much for stopping by and I will finish my intended project for later. I do have 2 notecards to give as "candy" if you leave a comment and become a new "follower".

Your next stop on the hop is Carolyn Phillips - enjoy!!!!

God Bless the USA Guest Designer Kari Sanchez

I am ever sew excited as I have my good friend, Sister, and I guess the one we can give credit (or blame . . . lol) for having me set up my blog as she has been encouraging every step of the way . . . . Thank you Kari

This month's theme for my Guest Designers was God Bless the USA and without further adieu - I would like to introduce Kari Sanchez from Purple Funtastick Creations who does phenominal projects . . .

Hello Friends!

I am a guest designer for Lynne Kirsch of Her Craftiness! :) ....I am thrilled! :) She is a dear friend and sister to me...we have known each other from a previous life we like to joke . . . lol...giggles...anyways make sure you check out her blog...pretty kewl stuff! :) Her Craftiness at http://hercraftiness.blogspot.com/

Here is my take on the Theme she had for me...The Good Old USA...I thought I make another mililtary card for the Soldier Angels that Maria (another good friend) gave me when I did a Military Hop a while back...so here is my take on it and I hope you like it! :)

The recipe:
I used red cardstock and Miss Elizabeth papers (Dollar stores) and a ribbon ( Wal-mart) and then I punched the yellow stars out of course yellow cardstock, then I stamped the Eagle and the USA (Studios) on white card stock and cut it out for the card then added pop up dots...along with the stamping up Let Freedom Ring (Verve) then added stars to that making it look like it is going up in the air...I sort of made it look vintage with the printed paper kind of shredded...

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to give bloggy love to me and Lynne and have a great day! :)

Kari - I love it -- thanks sew very very much for being my Guest Designer for today......

Febie Just Had to Show Off With a Simple Project

Febie from Creative Kuts just had to show off for you one more time today now that we are bestest friends with a really simple easy project to give as appreciation for an act of kindness!!!!

I used DCWV The Lace Linen Stack which really surprised me that I absolutely love love love this paper with all the vintage and pastels because if anyone knows me I like it bold, bright, and the unexpected, but this absolutely works for this project also! I cut the cardstock 6 x 12 and folded a 2-inch piece and glued in place to make this a sturdy tent and then folded in half to place on a desk of a co-worker or any place to show how much you care for the "kindness" of others. I guess I have spoiled Febie with giving her some mobility as she loves now to kick up that heel and playing Vanna White pointing out the word "kindness" with the 2 tiny brads!! I added the bow where the bow was on the paper to add dimension along with Febie having that little pink dotted bow and a few rhinestoness for that bling bling!!!

We all have that special someone that has done something for us without being asked and what better way to show how much you appreciated it . . . like I said a quick and easy project!!! I know a few someone specials that have given me sew much support and love to make me believe that I am able do this of which I am very appreciative for their "kindness"!

Lynne

Febie Kindness Start of Encouragement Journal

My very first project for Creative Kuts as a member of their Design Team and I'm thrilled to be sharing this with you!!!!

I had purchased some time back these little Mulberry Scrapbook albums at Pat Catans which were 2 for $1 and who just couldn't pass on buying them and you would just had to have several of course!!! Each page measures 7.5 x 8.5 inches with a total of 8 bound pages. Just purrfect for an "Encouragement Journal"!!! Creative Kuts also has several of the bears with different words which I intend to put in this book along the way to continue. Consider this my first installment!

First off, Febie and I needed to get acquainted as she just wasn't sure what I was doing or who I was...after becoming acquainted I convinced her I wouldn't hurt her and that I would even do pink just for her!!!! The paper was purrfect for this project and from the DCWV The Lace and Linen Stack which is a vintage style cardstock with pearls, browns, and pinks and the one paper I used had the pink with the look of chocolate (who doesn't love chocolate?? I know for a fact that it is one of the basic food groups!!) I used the My Community cartridge for the puzzle pieces with inserting the phrase "K is 4" using Jasmine font cartridge. Febie has the word "Kindness" already with the shadow. I added a tag with a quote from Mark Twain: "Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see". which I thought was purrfect!!! Febie wanted a little freedom to kick up her heel and just play Vanna White with showing the word "kindness" sew, I put a brad on her one arm and one leg just to give her some freedom. The cut has a bow but for dimension, I added a little pink and white polka dot bow, some pearls and of course one of my dimensional flowers with pearls on the inside!! The tag was doubled for durability and strength with a scrap of irridescent ribbon which completes my little project!

Hope you enjoy my first Design Team Project and go over to Facebook and check out the Creative Kuts fan page for challenges and sales!

Mystery Swap Project

This is a Mystery Swap that I participate in ... ok, granted, I'm late with getting in the mail BUT they will still be accepted due to circumstances beyond my control!

I am a strong advocate of mammogram's and self-breast examination due to my frightening experience in December. Fate and God took a big part in when I had my mammogram. I had gone with my daughter for her sonogram and she convinced me to make an appointment and surprisingly they took me immediately right after Jen's sonogram! I got a call Christmas Eve stating there was something abnormal found in the right breast. To make a long story short but to keep the importance was a needle punction biopsy with a marker was done on January 3rd with having surgery on March 24, 2011. The markers were removed along with a 2-inch incision determining that I have atypical ductal hyperplasia which makes me a high-risk breast cancer patient.

At this time, I would love to share my Mystery Swap - - -

The elephant and the Library Card is a My Scrap Chick paper piecing. I was very fortunate to find Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon at Angela's Ribbons, Bows and More and then my other great find was the brads by Create! Impress and came 25 in a package!

On the printer, I made the tag to attach with the ribbon stating: "Memo - Never Forget to get your mammogram!"

I hope you enjoy my project and please "never forget to get your mammogram"!

God bless you my dear friends

I'm Back!

First off, for those who don't know I was taken by ambulance on Tuesday as I couldn't move my left leg or lift my head off the pillow. What apparently is happening is that my discs that I had herniated are now causing pinched nerves and rubbing against the arthritic area. All this in a nutshell, means I will be needing surgery in the not too distant future!

I want to thank all of my wonderful friends for their thoughts and prayers. Prayer is the answer! I'm at my home and Jerry is going to give me a hand to do things around the house plus I will be having a visiting nurse along with pt!

Again, thank you and I can't tell you how much I have missed you and love you all!!!

God Bless

Hugs and Love,

Lynne

If You Obey All the Rules You Miss All the Fun!

I must have been abducted by aliens . . . for those of you who are just beginning to know me and those who know me from quilting, there are a few things that Lynne DOES NOT DO --- first, pastels - what are you talking about, they don't exist, the brighter the better and then the biggest faux paux is I color outside the lines (Or some have said, think outside the liter box)!!!! But, I guess there is a first for everything and you are the witnesses to this!!!! When, I was just browsing around I found a new blog that I haven't seen before (can you imagine that!) and they are having a layout challenge - ok, get up off the floor and get over the shock! I thought, I can do this (will wonders ever cease?) and this is my very first lay-out let alone following directions!!!!!!

On Facebook, I had gotten a come check me out from The Scrapholic and I checked out her blog and loved it!!! and that is where I found the layout challenge. I know, I'm still in shock too especially when I said I can do this!!!!

Without further adieu may I present my layout card challenge!!!

Yes, there are pastels and shocking even more-sew is that I didn't use A Child's Year to cut my card but my everyday paper cutter!!! Ok, I didn't want to throw you off too much, I did use the cartridge for the 2 girls holding hands and surprise - they are pastel too!!!!

The stamps were appropriate and basically what dictated the card (I guess you could say the card spoke to me) --- on the front is "we do not remember days . . . we remember moments" and my apologies to the author as even with reading glasses, I cannot give credit where credit is due.

On the inside is quotes from both Victor Borge (who my parents loved and adored, they even on lp's with him!) "Laughter is the shortest distance between two people" and another great is Katherine Hepburn "If you obey all the rules you miss all the fun"

Now, that is what I call words to live by!!!!

Well, stop on over at The Scrapoholic to check out the other challenges or participate in this one or better vote/like mine! If you decide to participate in this challenge, be sure to let me know and I can post your challenge too!

I hope I haven't floored or shocked too many!

God Bless

Note Cards

I felt honored and thrilled that my dear friend and sister, Kari, has asked me to be one of her Guest Designers for party today as she has reached 200 followers! Thank you Kari and I promise you won't be disappointed! Don't forget to go over and check Kari's party out at
http://purplefuntastickcreations@blogspot.com/ !!!!

I love to make note cards! Now, this is not something that I had particularly planned on doing but instead when I am cutting a card with my Cricut with 12-inch paper, I simply make an extra card and put it in a box for future use! I normally use my A Child's Year with cutting my cards as there are sew many possibilities with that card.

Now, another thing that I do is re-purpose an odd item for most. Those reams of paper that you purchase how they have on the front page all the colors that are included in that pack - well, I cut them apart and put them through my Cuttlebug with different embossing folders and then they also get put in the box with the wayward card.

Also, I know that many times, I have cut out an object that I just love and its easier to cut 2 as much as it is to cut one and you guessed it - it goes in that surprise box! One other thing is when I print a digi, I also print 1 or 2 extras for the nights I have trouble sleeping, coloring is actually very relaxing and again it goes in this box! The purrrfect box is one of those photo boxes you can purchase at Michaels or JoAnn Fabrics just to name a few places.

Now, on days those creative juices just aren't flowing, I open my box and viola I have a lot of pretty little things that just need to be made into a note card. I have a couple of samples here with the digi being "Annie's Card" from Tiddly Inks (she has adorable kid type digis) and stamped on the card "So Sweet" and used the little color samples that have been embossed for the background!

Now, the other two notecards have the "toothfairy" from A Child's Year with the words "Dream" and "Wish" with just a few bling bling rhinestones! The paper that was used with the fairies was from a ream with a super large print that you wonder, whatever shall I do with that piece of paper --- well, its a purrfect notecard.

Now, what I do with my notecard creations is that the nursing home that my parents had resided in there are a few special residents that I still visit that were near and dear to my parents. They love to send little notes to family and friends and this makes a wonderful gift to take to them with a little ribbon tied around them. They now have the option as to whether to use it as a note card or a special birthday wish! They are sew appreciated as it is something they no longer have the opportunity to go out and purchase plus it fills that problem what can I take to someone in a nursing facility!!!

I want to thank Kari once again for asking me to her party and I hope you enjoyed my note cards!

God Bless

God Bless The USA Guest Designer, July 12, 2011

Happy Terrific Tuesday everyone!! It's another fantastic and beautiful day today -- A little on the humid side, but with the sun shining and the birds singing, it really makes it all worth it!! :)

My name is Amy, and today I have the distinct pleasure of being a Guest Designer for Lynne here at "Her Craftiness"... I 'met' Lynne through another blogger (Kari) a short while ago, but have already become very fond of my sweet new friend!!

A little about me...

I am 'The-Mom' to two wonderful teenagers (lovingly referred to as 'The-Girl-Child' and 'The-Boy-Child' on my blog)... I am quirky and silly, I love to make people laugh, and I like exclamation points and :) smiley faces!!! :) :) :) I'm more than a little OCD, especially when it comes to my creations -- I like clean lines and balance; however, my craft room (or office) doesn't count for that! :) I am extremely blessed (even if I forget that from time to time)... I've been 'crafting' for as long as I can remember -- My parents are extremely talented creatively and that's something they've passed on to my siblings and me (and I hope I've passed on to my children too)!

When I'm not crafting, all of my 'favorite things to do' involve spending time with my kids -- They have been the most incredible gifts to me. Sure, spending time with them might mean standing in the pouring rain (or blazing sun) at track meets and sloshing through muddy fields during cross-country season, but it also means 'Movie Night Mondays', guitar-serenades, sports events and musicals, amusement park fun, and plenty of laughs!

My life experiences have taught me that today is the most important day of your life; the people that you love should always be cherished (even when you disagree with something they say or do); and doing ANYTHING that makes you happy without giving you peace doesn't really make you happy, but anything that gives you peace is worth doing...

Now on to my project!!

Lynne asked me to share something with you with a "God Bless the USA" theme... My regular followers know that isn't too difficult for me!! :) I love anything patriotic, Americana, and red, white, and blue!! And so... With that in mind, I created a quick project that also gives me the opportunity to journal about some things I'm thankful for...

My mom once gave me a book called "A Journal of Days"... It had dates throughout the book, but didn't include the year, so you could jot things down on different dates and then look back at different events from year-to-year. Similar to a diary, but more of a way to compare... Since I think it's important to have a place to jot down things that you are thankful for -- answered prayers, praises, fun events, moments with friends -- I've wanted to create a journal for this for some time. Lynne's invitation to be a guest designer and design something with the "God Bless the USA" theme was a perfect chance to do this.

The journal itself measures only 6"x6". I used two pieces of chipboard for the base and covered it with some handmade red paper. I then tore wavy strips for the flag stripes using my Creative Memories Wavy Tearing Tool and distressed the edges with caramel ink.

I cut a 3"x3" square of blue handmade paper and tore the edges before adhering it to the top left corner of the journal. The stars were cut from the Plantin SchoolBook Cricut Cartridge (both at 1.75", blue with base feature, white with shadow feature), distressed and inked, and adhered with a pot dot. My 'found' red button matched the red paper perfectly, so I tied some variegated tan hemp cord in a bow and adhered that to the stars with a glue dot. The stitching was added with my metallic copper pen from Creative Memories. I love how the copper matches the 'antique' look of the journal...

The "God Bless the USA" stamp is from the K Andrew Designs Stamp Art Set called "Freedom Isn't Free"... Kristal has designed each stamp set with card-makers and crafters in mind -- Every set is perfectly themed for a large variety of cards and projects. Additionally, each stamp set benefits charity!! At least $1 from the sale of each stamp set is given to one of the charities carefully selected by Kristal. If you are not yet familiar with Kristal's stamps, please take a moment to visit K Andrew Designs -- While you're there, do something nice for yourself AND for charity and pick up one of her AWESOME stamp sets!! You'll be SO glad you did!! :) **I am often asked how I get the 'wavy' effect of the stamp since this stamp is completely straight on the packaging... Because the quality of these stamps is so wonderful -- nice and thick with fantastic 'stick' -- I simply place the stamp on my acrylic block in the wavy pattern that I want it to stamp. When I take the stamp off the block, it goes right back to being straight!!**

Tying the ribbons onto the binder clips gives the journal a finished look... I added some 5.75"x5.75" cardstock to the inside of the journal after distressing the edges with caramel ink, and my journal is ready to go!! :)

I hope you have enjoyed my "Journal of Days" today... If you have any questions, please feel free to ask in the comments and I will get back to you (please be sure to leave your blog address or a way for me to contact you)... Now, there's a little surprise GIVEAWAY for one lucky follower today!! There are a few "rules", so to be eligible, please do this:

  • Please be a follower here at Lynne's blog and leave a comment on this post...

  • Of course, I'd love for you to be a follower of my blog too!! Please hop on over there and become a follower (if you aren't already) and leave a comment on the 'matching' guest designer post there telling me something YOU would write in this journal (something you're thankful for, something that makes you happy, something you want to share)...

Would you like to know what someone will win??? I'd like to send the winner one of these journals!! I'll even let you pick the theme (especially if you are one of my friends from outside the USA)!! OR... If you're all about making one yourself, I'll be happy to send you enough supplies to create one of these yourself!! Be sure to leave a way for me to contact you (your blog address or email address -- in safe 'scrapbookingwithamy at gmail dot com' format!!) or check back at my blog next MONDAY, July 18th to see who the winner is). Well, this project has a dual purpose - not only is it for a challenge, but also for my partner in RAK (Random Acts of Kindness)! I love when a project has muliti-purposes . . . sew its Flip Flop time again!!! Well, maybe not but I do love my flip flops! The Paper Dolls are having another link up challenge - Monday Week 7 Challenge 3D Flowers with not only the instructions on a pdf file but the svg cut file for the flowers and did I mention its FREE! Their link is on the right side. Bear in mind that I'm not a flowery type person but I do love this flower and it is amazingly simple but looks phenominal! And just how purrrfect is that rose decorating my flip flop?

All files were cut using the free svg files from The Paper Dolls! The paper used is from DCWV Flower Shower Spring Stack which does have a nice sparkly flowery type paper which I have used previously for cards but now realize how kewl it looks as summery flippy flops!!! This brand of flip flops, I am calling "sweet"! I used some rhinestones for the center of the rose on Pat Catan's clearance table for a quarter!!! Now, how sweet of a deal is that?

Hope you enjoy this fun project as much as I had fun making it!!!

Ashliana's Birthday Party Invitations

First off, I would like to say with pride -- Ashliana, my 10-year old granddaughter is having her 11th birthday party this month. Now, for this, Ashliana made these invitations with a little supervision!

The invitations themselves were cut from the Plantin cartridge at 5-inches. From there, we used the Make the Cut for the words and shadow for "its a party". The party hat was cut from one of the pre-loaded cartridges on my E2 with a little flower for the pom pom.

Now, with this being a bowling party, we used the "strike" svg from My Scrap Chick http://myscrapchick.com/paperpiecing1.htm It is an adorable, easy to cut file. We did use a marker though for the stripes on the bowling pin rather than using the tiny little pieces! She wanted it to be boingy!!! This was achieved by adding a strip of paper glued on the one side of the card and attached the "strike" that it actually bounces when the invitation is opened! I had an invitation stamp which was stamped on the inside for her to put the information for the party!!!

I hope you enjoy and let me tell you that kids love to craft and with little supervision have a great time with the cricut!

Friendships Bloom aka Frustrating Friday!

Well, welcome to Frustrating Friday. First, I would like to state I fought the Cricut Everyday Pop-Up Cards and the Everyday Pop-Up Cards has won! That is until I did a web search for instructions. Would you believe, or those that own this cartridge already know, that there are no instructions on completing the card and the cutting instructions are vague as for the majority black and white without knowing what you are cutting. Now, with that being said, I did a web search and I must give a round of applause and kudos to Obsessed with Scrapbooking as she has done diagrams as to what gets attached and where! This information can be found at
http://www.obsessedwithscrapbooking.com/2011/05/cricut-everyday-pop-up-cards-diagrams.html with a downloadable PDF file to print and put in the cartridge box to save future nightmares! Thank you Joy!!!

Papers that were used was my black from Michael's that they have reams for $3.99 except when there is a sale they are $3.50 each! The card, believe it or not, was not cut from A Child's Year but also on Everyday Pop-Up Cards! The card paper was from a stash bundle from Pat Catans on a discount rack!

I hope you enjoy my project. I think I just may make another tomorrow while things are fresh in my mind at least while I still have my mind!!!

Graduation Card Mode

Happy 4th of July and hope everyone is having a safe holiday!

Yes, I know, it's the 4th of July but I've been in a graduation card mode with having 2 graduates from Kindergarten, 1 from Nursery School, and 1 from Elementary School!

These were super easy and using my favorite cartridges they were done 1-2-3!

Pat Catan's has some great papers on sale with the black stripe being only 10 cents per sheet and the blue in a package of 24 sheets of various double-sided prints for $3.00! Ilove bargains!!!!

Using my Xyron while cutting all the small pieces, I just put them in there and everything is in one place! 3 Birds on Parade has a fantastic font and I just love the little birdie with cap and gown! As for the girls, they got Hello Kitty Greetings. What a great cartridge with Hello Kitty dressed up for various occassions and with the cap and gown throwing the cap in the air - how adorable can that be! As for Hello Kitty's nose, I just love adding a little bling with a rhinestone.

The diplomas and cards are cut from of course - A Child's Year along with the oval background! I just may surprise you one day and use something else for my cards!!!

Well, enjoy your picnic and the fireworks! As for me, I'm doing laundry and the Cricut and I are doing some serious bonding!

Happy Birthday America!
God Bless

Zack's Graduation Card

Alright, I realize this is July already and I didn't get Zack's graduation card done in time for his Graduation from Kindergarten --- bad Grandma Lynne!!!! No excuse but give me some credit as the card did turn out adorable!!!

Recipe for this card was of course A Child's Year for the card cut at 5-3/4 inches, the oval cut at 4-inches, and the diploma cut at 2-inches which I added an orange ribbon tied into a bow. I just got 3 Birds on Parade which has the most adorable font along with the birds in different costumes which this one has his cap and gown on which was cut at 3-3/4 inches. As for the font, if you look closely, you're see their cute little feet as part of the numbers on the inside for the year of his high school graduation with the numbers cut at 2-1/2 inches! All papers were from my wonderful scrap bin!!! You just gotta love our scrap bins!

I have entered this card in the Cooking With Cricut Challenge #41 entitled Anything Goes http://www.cookingwithcricut.com/2011/07/challenge-41.html

I hope you enjoy Zack's card as I'm hoping he will enjoy it also!!!

God Bless those who are following my blog
and
welcome to my new followers!!!
